Our Pavillions on 1770 accommodation is perfectly situated, you can walk straight out your front door and head across the dunes to the main Agnes water surf beach, a mere 2 minute stroll away for a day of fun in the sun. Don't forget your sunscreen and hat!

Get Wet & Start Surfing

Bring your surfboard, kite-surf board, SUP, or body-board down to the beach to get your blood pumping. If you need to hire or buy the necessary gear, or you would like to learn how to surf or try your hand at kitesurfing then you will find an operator in town who can help you out.

Two surfing operators are: Reef 2 Beach Surf School and Lazy Lizard Surf School run surf lessons. Enjoy great surf tuition and uncrowded beaches. Equipment is supplied, just bring yourself and a towel

Kite Surf 1770 runs lessons for anyone willing to give kite surfing a go. They also hire out gear for experienced kite surfers. 1770 SUP holds stand up paddleboard lessons and also sells paddle boards. Run by Chris de Aboitiz, a pioneer of the Australian SUP scene.

Head for the River or the Ocean for Fishing

Ideal for fishing enthusiasts as the resort is in the perfect spot for easy and quick access to all the major fishing hot-spots dotted around the region. You can launch a boat at 1770 marina and from there navigate yourself to the accessible inland rivers, or try other fishing spots further out around the outer Great Barrier Reef.

Boating and Water Adventures

You may prefer to hire a boat and explore the local area yourself, or you could join a boat snorkelling and diving tour to get the most out of your stay. The operators in town run various tours which include snorkelling, diving, swimming and island hopping. You also have the options of bird watching on Lady Musgrave Island and wreck and reef scuba diving off the island.
